ABOUT

Daniel Grest (born 5 pounds 6 ounces) singer, actor, and dancer, originally from Melbourne, Florida. He received his BFA in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University in May of 2020.

Daniel has been singing since the age of three, when he would put on concerts for his two moms and have his twin sister “doowap-shabop” in the background. When he was nine, Daniel’s mother heard of an audition for a local production of A Christmas Story, and bribed him with an ice cream cone if he would audition, in hopes of channeling his rambunctious energy. Always motivated by food, Daniel auditioned and was cast as the lead in the play, and has not stopped performing ever since.

At the age of 13, Daniel toured the United States with the American Boychoir, performing with prestigious ensembles including the New York Philharmonic and London Symphony Orchestra. After that, he started dancing and continued to perform in numerous musicals back in Florida. While attending Montclair State, he played roles such as Bobby in Urinetown, Danny in Baby, and Tiger / Baby John u/s in West Side Story with original Jerome Robbins choreography. Daniel spent the Summer of 2019 singing and dancing at Dorney Park through RWS in “Hot Rhythm Nights”. Post-pandemic he performed and served as Vocal Captain on the Norwegian Dawn for NCL Entertainment. Since then he has performed at the MGM Beau Rivage as a Lead Singer for their new Christmas musical, Finding Christmas. Musical theatre being his first love, Daniel has most recently played Jesus in Godspell, Squidward in The SpongeBob Musical, and Sir Robin in Spamalot.

In October 2023, Daniel was cast in the workshop of a brand new show package for Holland America, working one on one with Broadway choreographer Sarah O’Gleby. In early 2024, he joined the inaugural cast of & Company where he originated his Headliner Vocalist track and set the blueprint for future casts.

Daniel is a passionate performer with a wide range and solid technique. He is an avid supporter of equal rights for all, big and small, and is the father of his sweet rescue chi-weenie, Linda.
